Notice for the General Assembly Meeting on May 7, at 16.30!

We will start the meeting with a presentation from Johanna Andersson, Gender Equality Coordinator at Chalmers who will share the result from the Gender Equality Survey conducted during 2011, and what activities Chalmers is planning to improve the situation further. The location is the “IT-lab”, Vasa buildning 3, floor 4, and the Agenda for the meeting is now available.

At the general assembly meeting, the highlight is the election of new board members and a chairman and a treasurer for the up-coming year. We especially need candidates who are interested in taking on the role of chairman or treasurer, so if you are interested, please send your name to dokt@chs.chalmers.se!

See you there!

Anna Yström, Chairman 2011/2012

Petition for permanent residency for PhD students

Some folks at KTH start a petition for permanent residency for PhD students. It is a good move towards the upcoming parliamentary debate. Do you think it’s a good idea? Then sign the petition in the following link:

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/903/398/359/permanent-residency-for-doctoral-students-in-sweden/

Here is what they wrote about it:

SIGN THIS PETITION before the upcoming parliamentary debate on the 30th of May, 2012, to send a clear message to the Swedish Government that it is in the best interests of Sweden to encourage the permanent residency of International Doctoral Students.

This motion should be supported not only to provide opportunities for these highly-skilled individuals to contribute to Swedish society, but to also foster strong relationships with the home nations of these candidates; and further secure Sweden’s reputation as an internationally-supportive place of higher research studies.
